Arsenal prepared to accept Barcelona's €40m bid for Cesc Fabregas

There is just a €5m difference between the parties in negotiations following the Spanish giants' latest attempts to sign the Gunners captain, as long-running transfer saga rolls on

Barcelona's fresh €35 million offer for Cesc Fabregas has been turned down by Arsenal - but Arsene Wenger's side are willing to let their midfielder leave for €40m, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claim the Spanish and European champions, who have already previously had a €30m offer for the Emirates captain declined, are close to agreeing on the final valuation of the 24-year-old.

On Friday, Wenger remained adamant he wanted Fabregas to stay at the club this summer, and also vowed, Samir Nasri, another player who has been strongly linked with a move away, will not be sold without a fight.

That came despite reports emerging on Friday evening that a fee of around €25m had been agreed between the Gunners and Manchester City for Nasri.

Fabregas is due to miss the club's pre-season tour of Malaysia due to a hamstring injury and will remain in England for treatment.

With just €5m reportedly between what Arsenal would accept and Barca are currently offering, it appears another round of negotiations could finally settle the long-running transfer saga.
