Chelsea To Offer Ross Turnbull Plus Cash For Stoke's Asmir Begovic - Report

Chelsea are believed to be willing to offer Ross Turnbull plus cash to Stoke City in exchange for the services of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The 23-year-old made a move to the Britannia Stadium in January, having left Portsmouth due to the financial turmoil at Fratton Park.

The Bosnian shot-stopper made his debut towards the end of last season against Chelsea, as a substitute for Thomas Sorensen - who had to be taken off owing to injury.

Begovic was linked with moves to a clutch of clubs during the summer, with heavy speculation surrounding a potential switch to Stamford Bridge.

At one point, Potters boss Tony Pulis came out saying that the 'keeper had refused to play in a League Cup tie against Shrewsbury Town, amid suggestions that the player was trying to carve out a move away from the club.

Now the Daily Mail reports that Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is ready to offer the Staffordshire club a cash plus Turnbull deal to acquire Begovic.

It is thought that the Italian is not confident of Petr Cech's backup, Henrique Hilario and Turnbull.
