Manchester City Manager Roberto Mancini Hopes Adam Johnson Can Improve Further

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has thrown down the gauntlet to winger Adam Johnson, demanding further improvement in his game.

The 23-year-old made a move from Middlesbrough last winter, and has gone on to put in performances that saw him being called-up to the England national team.

With the Three Lions, the midfielder has made four appearances and scored two goals in the process - both came in the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland in September.

Now the Italian boss wants the winger to up his game by another notch.

"Adam is young, but has got what it takes," said Mancini, according to The Mirror.

"He only needs to understand it is not enough to dribble past an opponent six times to feel entitled to be at the top.

"You need to dribble as well as a cutting shot like the goal he scored against Juventus or the one for us to win 2-1 against Newcastle. If I didn't believe in Adam's potential I would not work him like this."
