Paris Saint-Germain boss Antoine Kombouare has confessed that he was only partially satisfied by his side tying 0-0 with Nice on Sunday afternoon.
Les Parisiens have gone six matches without losing, and six without so much as conceding, but Kombouare feels that his men might have done a little better against les Aiglons, citing tiredness following their midweek Europa League exploits as an issue.
“I’ve got mixed feelings,” he told the media after the game, according to Ligue 1’s official website. “We could have got all three points, even if we were a little scared of a repeat performance of last season’s match where they scored in the last minute. In the end, it’s a good point and another clean-sheet. We keep moving forward.
“Nice came here to defend and when they were in trouble, their goalkeeper [David] Ospina saved them. We lacked a little physical freshness, but we still created a number of good chances. Now, we’ve got the international break to keep working and look to keep building on our current run.”
Eric Roy, les Aiglons’ coach, was pleased with what his side achieved after three defeats in succession. “I wasn’t worried, but since we conceded eight goals in our last three games, it’s good for the morale to have kept a clean-sheet, especially as we head into an international break,” he noted.
PSG are seventh in the Ligue 1 standings with 12 points and Nice are 13th, a couple of marks worse off.
