The Bafana Bafana head coach was speaking at a press conference after naming his 22-man squad to take on the ‘Leone Stars' on October 10 in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Freetown.
Mosimane made it clear excuses such as bad playing conditions or the travelling challenges the team will face to the West African country won't be tolerated. It is the win he wants, at all costs.
"We must bring the results and stop the excuses! I expect my players to give the country what the country deserves," he said.
"We know the conditions already and we must play and bring home the results. We need to adjust. I don't want to be passing on a message of conditions are not good, the ferry boat, the what what… all these things don't help. So what? When Niger goes to Sierra Leone it will be the same for them. When Egypt goes to Sierra Leone it will be the same so let's go out and play," said Jingles.
"We have had good support from everybody, people are still wearing their Bafana jerseys on Fridays and we respect that. This is not the time for excuses. We must go and play. We must bring the results. We must come back from Freetown top of the group… I believe in my team," Mosimane continued.
Mosimane further revealed he's studied the opponents and warns it won't be as easy it was in the first match of the qualifiers – a 2-0 victory over Niger in Nelspruit.
"We are playing a team that has 95% of their players playing in Europe. I have seen their DVD, though it was distorted, and there is not much difference from the team that played against us two years ago. I don't expect the free-flow football that we always enjoy here at home, but we have the likes Steven Pienaar, MacBeth Sibaya and Aaron Mokoena and I expect them to carry the team," he said. "With due respect to Sierra Leone I fancy our chances," Mosimane added.
The last time Bafana played in Freetown against Sierra Leone was on 14 June 2008, losing the match 1-0 in a WC/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
