Jose Luis Fernandez & Gabriel Hauche Believe Racing Club Are In Perfect Shape Ahead Of Independiente Clash

Racing Club duo Jose Luis Fernandez and Gabriel Hauche declared that squad were in the best of spirits ahead of the crunch Clasico de Avellaneda in a week's time, after an accomplished 3-0 win at home to Huracan on Saturday.

The derby, played between Racing and Independiente, is one of the most-anticipated fixtures of the season, playing second-fiddle only to the Superclasico between Boca Juniors and River Plate in terms of national interest.

And as the clock starts counting down on the fixture, rescheduled for Monday afternoon due to security issues, several players from 'La Academia' took the time to express their confidence and eagerness to play their bitterest rivals.

This comes from a recent run of three unbeaten games, during which they have picked up seven points, scored seven and not conceded a goal.

Midfielder and Saturday's man of the match Fernandez summed up the good mood around El Cilindro, telling reporters at the club's training complex that "we could not have arrived any better than this".

Hauche was another who declared himself pleased with the current Racing situation, and with his own, as he crowned his return to the starting line-up with a goal.

"I knew that it was an important chance because I had not been playing. I feel great," 'El Demonio' revealed to Ole.

"We had to beat Huracan to arrive at the clasico with confidence. We played very well, we chased the ball and we were well organised."
