Chievo Striker Sergio Pellissier Pleased With Parity In Serie A

Chievo striker Sergio Pellissier may have been linked with a summer move to Napoli, but the forward says he was never going to leave the Flying Donkeys and is happy to see some of the smaller clubs near the summit of the Serie A table.

Pellissier says he would have found it tough to obtain a spot in the starting XI had he joined the Partenopei.

"I was linked on many occasions to Napoli, but in the end, we never got to the end of the negotiations," the striker told Radio CRC. "Had I joined, I would've had to work extremely hard to get a place in the side with the likes of [Edinson] Cavani, [Ezequiel] Lavezzi and [Marek] Hamsik.

"I don't think Napoli would have taken a starting XI spot away from them."

Pellissier believes it is fantastic to see some of the smaller Serie A clubs at the top of the league standings.

"It is wonderful to see an equal league, where the first few places on the table are occupied by some of the smaller clubs," he added.

Chievo currently sit in fifth place on 10 points.
