According to a report in Het Nieuwsblad, Belgian first division outfit Genk are eager to appoint Norwegian manager Trond Sollied as the club's new head coach.
The Genkies are in the market for a new coach after they decided to give Hein Vanhaezebrouck the sack on Sunday following the club's abysmal results this season.
The 50-year-old Sollied has been out of work since he parted company with Heerenveen earlier this season. The Dutch side were unhappy with the results and with Sollied's coaching style and decided to fire the Norwegian.
It remains to be seen though whether Sollied is interested in taking over at Genk. He was rumoured to be ready to join Turkish side Ankaragucu last week.
