Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has recalled Milan wing-back Gianluca Zambrotta for the Azzurri's Euro 2012 qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Serbia.
Prandelli revealed Zambrotta accepted the decision with enthusiasm and and eagerness to do well.
"He is in excellent form, and when I rang him and told him the news, he accepted with enthusiasm," Prandelli told Novantesimo.it.
"I thought about a young player who has future prospects in the Azzurri team, as well as a 28-year-old who doesn't have international experience, but I then chose to go with someone who has played almost 100 times for the side."
