Delio Rossi made a winning start to his Palermo coaching career as the tactician steered the Rosanero to the last 16 of the Coppa Italia this week after a 4-1 thrashing of Serie B side Reggina.
The ex-Lazio coach took over from Walter Zenga at the start of the week after president Maurizio Zamparini sacked the former goalkeeper in the wake of a 1-1 home draw with Catania in the Sicilian derby.
And Palermo talisman Fabrizio Miccoli believes the managerial change will also help reverse their fortunes in Serie A as they will look for a first league win in over a month when they pay visit to Chievo this afternoon.
“With the right approach on the pitch, we can resume our march,” the diminutive forward told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“My objective and that of my team-mates is to get as far as far as possible both in the league and in the Coppa Italia. We always want to achieve the best.
“The new boss has come in and spoke to the whole team. And we soon showed our willingness to follow him with the utmost faith.”
