Inter striker Samuel Eto’o was relieved to come through yesterday’s 1-0 win over Fiorentina unscathed and has already turned his focus to the Italian giants’ upcoming key clashes with Juventus and Rubin Kazan.
Serie A leaders Inter travel to Juve next weekend with a comfortable eight-point advantage over the Bianconeri before hosting Rubin Kazan at the San Siro with a spot in the last 16 of the Champions League at stake.
“I have yet to hit my top form and I’ve yet to reach the end of my improvement path,” Eto’o told the club’s official website.
“But we now have two crucial games to play and that’s what we have to think about.”
Inter left it late to overcome Fiorentina yesterday thanks to a Diego Milito penalty, but Eto’o could have doubled their lead in the dying seconds when one-on-one with goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.
“Frey made an amazing save,” admitted the ex-Barcelona man.
“I could have dribbled around him, but I made a different choice. It happens in football, but we gave our all and must be happy with this result.”
