TP Mazembe 3-1 JS Kabylie: Defending Champions Defeat Algerians In First Leg Of CAF Champions League Semi-Finals

With the second leg still to come, Mazembe can be quietly confident with their 3-1 advantage.

JSK are the only team to have gone undefeated in the group stages, but they faced a very tough away test against the defending champions Mazembe, and could do little to counter their great attacking play.

Two-goal hero Kalunituka Dioko got things going for the Congolese, scoring in the 8th minute to put Mazembe in a great position from early on.

The score remained that way until half time, but the Algerians found a lifeline when Nabil Yalaoui scored in the 69th minute. It seemed that it would end in a stalemate, but a late fight back saw Mazembe take a win at home.

Ngandu Kasongo put them in front in the 85th minute, before Dioko scored his second four minutes later.

The next match between these two sides will take place in Algeria in a fortnight to determine the side that will take on either Al Ahly or Esperance in the African Champions League final.
