Sporting Gijon coach Manuel Preciado claimed his side should have picked up full points in the 2-2 draw with Real Zaragoza at la Romareda.
The Rojiblancos led by two goals in the contest before a double strike from former Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle allowed the home team to steal a point.
Speaking to journalists afterwards, a noticeably frustrated Preciado stated that his team should have claimed the victory from their position of dominance, saying: “We should have killed the match. We played a very good game, but when everything seemed secured we ended up with a tie.
“Sinama-Pongolle’s first goal puts them back into the game. I am happy with the team’s performance overall, but we must learnt to be able to settle a game. We have three or four clear chances to win but we lacked accuracy.”
Sporting a situated in 15th place after the result, having collected five points from their six matches played so far this season.
