Portugal had all kinds of trouble trying to qualify for the 2010 World Cup and needed a two-legged playoff against Bosnia-Herzegovina to book their ticket for South Africa. This didn't affect their confidence though, as shot stopper Eduardo is of the opinion that Portugal can win the world title.
“It’s important that people believe in and have dreams for the Seleccao. We players also believe and have dreams because we have players able to fight against any team in the world," said Eduardo to O Jogo.
“Without a doubt we believe it is possible to win the World Cup. We have this dream and will do everything within our power to achieve it. But the only thing we can promise the Portuguese fans is that we will fight for the title.
"Every time we put on that shirt and sing the national anthem it’s always a special moment, but against Bosnia-Herzegovina, because of the atmosphere that was created and because of what we aimed to achieve, the match was a landmark for me."
