Adrian Ramos signs two-year contract extension with Hertha Berlin

The Colombian striker is poised to remain at the German club after signing a contract extension that will keep him in the nation's capital until June 2015

Hertha Berlin announced on Friday that they have extended the contract of Adrian Ramos for a further two years.

The move will see the 25-year-old striker remain with the German side until June 30 2015, having already been contracted until 2013.

Hertha Berlin manager Michael Preetz said he always wanted to try and keep Ramos at the newly-promoted club.

"Our willingness was there... Adrian is a key player for us," said Preetz.

"Adrian will play a central role in our planning in the years ahead."

Ramos' contract does not allow him to move elsewhere until after 2015, with Preetz revealing there was no exit clause.

The striker's form in the Copa America has impressed his club and may have played a part in their decision to extend his contract.

"Against Costa Rica, he scored the winning goal. In the 0-0 draw against Argentina, he was again one of the best," said Preetz. "He's played a good tournament."

The Colombia international has scored 25 goals in 62 appearances since joining Hertha in 2009.
