Agent of Inter's Thiago Motta denies player refused a move to Arsenal

The Italy midfielder is content at San Siro, but his representative denies the Gunners have tabled an offer, with his future in doubt following the arrival of Gian Piero Gasperini

Thiago Motta’s agent, Daniele Cavoni, has denied claims that the Italy midfielder turned down an offer from Arsenal, but insists he is happy at Inter.

Italian press suggested that the Brazilian-born player was set for a move away from San Siro, with the Gunners reportedly interested in the 28-year-old, who featured in Jose Mourinho's Champions League-winning side.

Canovi dismissed the rumours and told Gazzetta dello Sport: "The player has never turned down an offer from Arsenal.

"He wants to remain at Inter and if the coach [Gian Piero] Gasperini wants him, he will continue to wear the Nerazzurri colours."

Motta has played a regular role in the Inter set up since his arrival from Genoa in 2009 and scored four goals in 19 appearances last season.

Though he was born in Brazil, Motta made his first appearance for Italy in February 2011 after gaining clearance from Fifa to appear in a friendly against Germany.
