Coach Juergen Klopp believed his Borussia Dortmund were somewhat lucky to beat Bayern Munich tonight, but believed the result was ultimately well-earned.
"The game was incredibly intense, but there was little to enjoy today," he said according to Kicker. "We had difficulty getting into the game; Bayern were very strong in the first half, and Mario Gomez had a few scoring chances. We were lucky that it was 0-0 at the break."
However, Klopp admitted that his team's improvement in the second half justified the result.
"As we began to play better, we had a chance to win. Our goals were both deserved."
Klopp was careful not to get too carried away with the result, however, and stressed that there is still much to be done if Dortmund are to win the Bundesliga title.
"Of course, we could say we are now champions. But we're not that hare-brained. It's only October."
It may only be October, but with seven matches played, Dortmund are ten points ahead of Bayern, who entered the season as league favourites.
