Tottenham Manager Harry Redknapp Hopes Nothing Comes Of Stray Tom Huddlestone Elbow In Champions League Clash With FC Twente
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp hopes Uefa decline to take retrospective action against Tom Huddlestone's wild elbow against FC Twente in the Champions League.
Huddlestone, 23, has been accused of violent conduct by Champions League opponent Marc Janko after he appeared to swing out at the striker. As the England international gained a free kick in the incident, the sport's governing body could ban him on video evidence as the referee took no action against the incident at the time.
Speaking to reporters, Redknapp believed the matter had been taken care of on the pitch and stated, "hopefully nothing will come of it."
"I have looked at it. I'd be a liar if I sat here and said I hadn't it, wouldn't I? I know some managers do that," the 63-year-old was quoted as saying by Press Association Sport.
"It's not like Tom, he's not at all an aggressive player, he's a fantastic footballer and a great guy.
"It looked like he caught him with an elbow. Whether he meant to do it, I'm not so sure.
"Hopefully, nothing will come of it and we can all move on."
