Twente Star Theo Janssen Withdraws From Netherlands Squad For Euro 2012 Qualifiers

Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk will have to make do without the services of Twente midfielder Theo Janssen when the Dutch take on Moldova on October 8 and meet Sweden four days later.

The Twente star is being plagued by injury problems and complained about pain in his knee after his side's 4-2 win against Groningen on Sunday. According to ANP, Janssen has therefore contacted Van Marwijk to withdraw from the Oranje squad.

The 29-year-old Janssen has been in outstanding form this season and impressed with good performances against Inter, Ajax and Groningen.

It's not yet known whether Van Marwijk will call up a replacement for the injured Janssen.

Meanwhile, Ajax defender Vurnon Anita has also confirmed that he won't be match fit in time for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers. The left-back sustained an injury in his side's 1-1 Champions League draw against Milan and was already expected to miss out on the matches against Moldova and Sweden.
