Pep Guardiola has underlined his great respect for Mallorca boss Michael Laudrup and has claimed that, despite his Real Madrid past, he could one day take charge of Barcelona.
“Michael has got the capability to coach Barcelona,” Guardiola told Marca. “He is a manager with an attacking mentality which suits this club. I cannot see why one day he couldn’t become Barca boss.”
Guardiola also has a good memory about the Dane as a footballer.
“I remember that everybody wanted to pass him the ball because there was something special about him. He gave us something different.”
The Catalan then talked about Mallorca ahead of their La Liga clash.
“Every game with them in the past has been hard fought. They are a good side and it won’t be easy,” said Guardiola.
“Mallorca have different skills and many good players. We have to be careful, otherwise we may not win this."
