Argentina interim coach Sergio Batista will call up Russia-based defensive pair Cristian Ansaldi and Nicolas Pareja for next Friday's friendly away to Japan, after the 'Albiceleste' backline was hit by a spate of injuries.
Yahoo reports that 'El Checho' gave the nod to Rubin Kazan's Ansaldi and Pareja who plays for Spartak Moscow, after being hit by a succession of injury doubts in the build up to next week's fixture. To the already ruled-out Javier Zanetti the trainer may have to add Pablo Zabaleta and Walter Samuel to the team's growing injury list, as both defenders are struggling with fitness and their clubs want them to stay put. Sergio Aguero will also not travel to the Far-East due to injury.
Ansaldi has one cap for the 'Seleccion', achieved when the full-back played against Spain in a 2009 friendly. Central defender Pareja meanwhile has never made an appearance for the senior side, but was a first-choice in the Batista-coached Under 23 team when they took gold in the 2008 Olympic Games.
