St. Pauli coach Holger Stanislawski was pleased with the improvement his side showed in their 1-0 away win in Hannover compared to their previous defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund last Saturday.
"After the poor performance against Dortmund, we did many things right defensively. The boys have made a lot of strides and are on the right path," he told Sky after the final whistle.
"We are happy to have achieved our third win. It was another step in the right direction."
St. Pauli are currently in sixth spot with ten points from seven matches but have played a game more than most of the teams around them.
