Golden Boot Winner Lionel Messi Insists Barcelona Is His Home

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has once again insisted that he has no plans of leaving the Blaugrana after collecting the European Golden Boot award on Thursday evening.

The 23-year-old was bestowed with the honour after scoring 34 league goals in the 2009-10 campaign. Barca president Sandro Rosell already announced that the club will never let him leave and now Messi himself has said that he wants to stay with Catalan outfit for the rest of his playing career.

"This is what I always say: Barcelona is my home and I hope that I stay here for many years," said the Argentina international, according to Spanish sports daily Marca.

Messi arrived at the Catalan club ten years ago from Argentina and progressed through the club's youth academy. He won the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2009.
