Bari have declined a takeover bid by Meleam - an Italian medical company.
According to Puntosport.net, the southern Italian outfit, owned by Salvatore Matarrese, snubbed an initial €12 million offer.
The report claims Meleam offered the €12m as a down payment. The company had plans to pay off the other €22m in two instalments between now and the end of the season. Those payments would have taken the takeover's value to €34m.
However, the Matarrese family have rejected the offer. It is claimed they are not satisfied with the valuation and that they want the takeover to be finalised in one payment.
Meleam have now revealed they are prepared to look elsewhere for a club.
Raffaele Di Monda, a lawyer acting on their behalf, said, "We want to enter the world of football through the main entrance. If there is no way of investing in Bari then we will look for another Italian investment."
