Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller was certainly not reluctant to express his views on Mike Dean's performance in his side's 1-0 home defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League. The English referee controversially sent off Marcel Schmelzer when the left-back picked up a second yellow for an alleged dive.
"We could have played even longer and we would not have scored a goal. The decisions of the referee were very comical, I said that to him myself several times," Weidenfeller told the club's official website.
"We were the better team and we must continue to play in such a manner. I am very disappointed as played very well. However, the luck was not on our side."
Dortmund must now look to bounce back from their disappointing defeat on Sunday afternoon when they host the champions Bayern Munich at the Signal Iduna Park.
