Milan Striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar Believes In Scudetto Bid

Klaas Jan Huntelaar is confident there is more than enough time for AC Milan to make up for lost ground in Serie A and wrest the title away from city rivals Inter.

And Milan have only the Dutchman to thank if they remained within seven points of the Nerazzurri on Sunday as Huntelaar opened his account for the club by netting a sensational brace in stoppage time to give the Rossoneri a 2-0 win over Catania.

“League titles do not get claimed in November or December,” Huntelaar told the Milan Channel.

“It’s true that seven points are a lot. But there is time. So, why not try and win the Scudetto?”

Huntelaar had struggled to make an impact at the San Siro so far following his high-profile summer move from Real Madrid, but is now confident boss Leonardo’s offensive tactics will help his progress.

“In Italy it is far more difficult than in Spain, where teams are not that attentive in defence,” he explained.

“That is why I feel more comfortable when there are so many of us up front. With the new system, I think that Milan can make the most of my characteristics.”
