The woes of Sharks of Port Harcourt have worsened after they lost 1-0 at home to Sunshine Stars in a Nigeria Premier League fixture.
Sharks are rooted to the basement of the championship with three points from seven matches, while coach Kadiri Ikhana appears to have finally thrown in the towel and so it was the team's former goalkeeper, Imama Amapakabor, who called the shots from the sidelines for the 'Garden city' club on Saturday.
Sharks have an outstanding home match against Kano Pillars, on December 23.
Kwara United climbed to the top of the league after they defeated visiting Lobi Stars 2-0 at the Ilorin Stadium.
Kwara, who are back in the top flight this season, have now recorded 15 points from eight games.
Kano Pillars are second in the standings with 14 points from seven matches after they held hosts Niger Tornadoes to a 1-1 draw, while Gombe United held Enyimba to another 1-1 draw at the Abubakar Umar Stadium in Gombe.
Ranch Bees improved their standings courtesy of a 2-0 home win over fellow promoted club Dolphins of Port Harcourt.
In the other game played on Saturday, Shooting Stars failed to take full advantage of playing in front of their fans as they were held to a goalless draw by Ocean Boys.
