Jose Mourinho Questions Critics Of His Winning Inter Side

Earlier this week, Jose Mourinho conceded the fact that Barcelona had outplayed Inter in their Champions League encounter.

The result has reportedly put pressure on Mourinho's position as Nerazzurri coach - rumours that president Massimo Moratti has strenuously denied - and Mourinho is equally puzzled by criticisms of the team and himself.

"I'm happy with the performances of my team," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com Italia.

"We are first in the league and have won 10 games out of 13, drawing two, we are second in the Champions League - if the group finished today we would qualify and we have a game in San Siro [against Rubin Kazan] which will decide whether we deserve to continue.

"How can I not be happy with a squad that has played well in the majority of its 18 matches, scoring a lot and winning a lot."

Mourinho also considered this weekend's clash with Fiorentina, and he wants his side to put the Champions League defeat behind them and concentrate on negotiating their difficult match on Sunday.

"Today I see the team are ready to go again after the Barcelona game, as I am - I'm not thinking about it any more. We want to win, we are first, we have a five point lead, we want to come out of this match with the same advantage and not think about the result of the league's second placed team.

"Fiorentina are a quality team, who play good football and have a top coach. They aren't under much pressure, since they are aiming for third to fifth place, so they will try and make it difficult for us like they did last year."
