Inter President Massimo Moratti Backs Javier Zanetti Over Mario Balotelli Comments

Inter's upcoming clash with Juventus has become embroiled in controversy before a ball has even been kicked.

The Bianconeri fans have been accused of racist abuse towards Mario Balotelli during their Champions League tie with Bordeaux in midweek, which UEFA are now looking into.

Javier Zanetti has warned the Old Lady to ensure that precautions are taken in order that these are not repeated during next weekend's Derby d'Italia, or Inter will ask for the game to be stopped.

Club president Massimo Moratti has now slammed the guilty fans, and backed the calls of his captain to halt the game if the chants are repeated.

"[The chants] were deeply racist," he told Il Corriere dello Sport.

"The Juventus directors have made acceptable statements to condemn them - I would have liked them to have been more comforting to the player.

"Withdraw the team if they are repeated against us? Yes, I think the captain will do that," he concluded.
