Africa Nations Cup Hosts Angola Begin Training In Portugal


Africa Cup of Nation hosts Angola will begin training for the tournament in the Portuguese city of Algarve on Sunday with 19 players from the local league, while 13 overseas-based players will join up later on December 26.

As part of their build-up for the championship, which kicks off on January 10, Angola will also play test matches against Estonia and Tunisia on December 30 and January 3, respectively.

According to the official website of the Confederation of African Football, the Palancas Negras, under former Al Ahly of Egypt coach, Jose Manuel, are expected to return to Angola on January 5, five days ahead of their opening day match against Mali at the Estadio de Luanda.

Angola are also drawn in Group A with Malawi and Algeria.
