According to a report in Bild, Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen are considering making a move for Danish youngster Mathias Jorgensen in the January transfer window. The centre-back currently plays for Danish champions Copenhagen.
The Hanseaten have been looking extremely vulnerable at the back in the opening weeks of the 2010-11 campaign and head coach Thomas Schaaf is eager to add a new defender to his squad this winter.
Schaaf supposedly sees the 20-year-old Jorgensen as the perfect addition to his squad and the report even claims that manager Klaus Allofs has already held talks with Copenhagen to discuss a possible transfer.
However, the Danish giants are reluctant to let go of the young defender and it remains to be seen whether Werder are willing to meet Copenhagen's €6 million asking price for Jorgensen.
Jorgensen joined Copenhagen from B93 in 2007 and has since developed into a key player at the Champions League hopefuls. He has already represented Denmark at senior level.
