English Premier League giants Arsenal are monitoring the development of young Mallorca striker Emilio Nsue, reports from Spain suggest.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been keeping a close eye on the Islanders youth graduate, who has emerged as a first-team regular for Michael Laudrup’s side this season after spending the 2009-10 season on loan at Real Sociedad.
Radio station Cadena SER remarks that Wenger would like to add Nsue as another dimension to his squad, with the u-21 international able to play on the wing and also as a main striker.
The 21-year-old grabbed the equalising goal against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Sunday evening, scoring a bullet header to earn his team a surprise 1-1 draw against the Spanish champions.
Arsenal have struggled to find a regular goalscorer in recent seasons due to injuries suffered by the likes of Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin, but Wenger feels he has found the answer in Nsue, and will test financially-troubled Mallorca with a teasing offer.
