Stevan Jovetic Has Second Operation, But Fiorentina Confirm He Faces Six Months Out

Stevan Jovetic's Fiorentina season is effectively over as the club have confirmed he will not be back for at least six months following a second knee-ligament operation.

A freak training ground injury saw Jovetic go under the knife in August, and he has now had corrective surgery to ligaments in his right knee.

However, the club's official website said he will not be able to return fully until April.

A statement reads:

"ACF Fiorentina communicates that Stevan Jovetic was operated this morning at the Hessingpark clinic in Ausberg [Germany] for the reconstruction of his anterior cruciate ligament.

"The operation was technically successful. He will have physiotherapy for the next five weeks. The estimated time for his full agonistic recovery is six months."
