Palermo Coach Delio Rossi Urges More ‘Structure’ Despite Impressive Win Over Fiorentina

It proved a successful away day for Palermo who came away from Florence following a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina this afternoon. Despite the win coach Delio Rossi refused to jump on the wave of enthusiasm and urged his team to keep an eye on tactical discipline as they express themselves with some spectacular performances.

“We are a side that plays football,” he declared to SkySport.

“If I am honest at times we are sometimes a little naïve.

“It is in the characteristics of my players to express themselves out there and it is my job to teach them to be a little more structured at times.

“Given the fact we are playing every three days now it hasn’t been easy to install new directions into the side."

The coach was then probed as to whether the hierarchy has changed inside the dressing room following the recent injuries to Fabrizio Miccoli and the rise of Javier Pastore.

“We are aware of the huge talent available in attack. Given the importance of a club such as Palermo however there is no such thing as hierarchies. Everyone here needs to fight for their place and this approach has always been so since my arrival on the bench.”
