Manchester United Striker Javier Hernandez Comes Off Second Best In Farmer Dispute

Javier Hernandez has made a huge impact at Manchester United but that didn't stop a farmer forcing him off the road in a Mexican stand-off.

Hernandez, 22, grabbed his first competitive goal for his new club in the 1-0 mid-week Champions League win at Valencia. His new found status, however, was no help in a traffic dispute near to United's Carrington training ground complex.

Speaking to the club's official magazine, youth team director and former Old Trafford favourite Brian McClair revealed the embarrassing incident.

He said: “It’s a single track road with ditches on either side.

“The farmer had right of way but Chicharito was not for reversing, until the tractor was about to drive over his car.

“He finally decided to retreat, nearly ending up in the ditch and then up a telegraph pole. The farmer was not amused.”
