Delio Rossi Hails Palermo Players Performance In Coppa Italia Win

Palermo coach Delio Rossi expressed his satisfaction at the performance and the result of his debut game on the bench.

The Rosanero defeated Serie B outfit Reggina 4-1 to clinch a place in the next round of the Coppa Italia and allow Rossi to kick-off his Sicilian adventure in the best possible way.

"I must thank the lads because they faced a team of a lower category with the right concentration," commented the former Lazio coach to ilpalermocalcio.it.

"I was curious to finally see them in action during the game and I must say that they did well. There's still work to do, but we started out on the right foot.

"I want to thank the people who proved their great affection, I hope to be worthy of their expectations and will give my best so that we can create a team who can identify itself with its own public."

Palermo will be back in action in Serie A on Sunday when they take on Chievo Verona in the 14th matchday of the Italian top flight.
