Hamburg striker Mladen Petric has been ruled out of tomorrow's clash with Kaiserslautern at the Imtech Arena with the fibula injury he sustained in training earlier in the week, according to the Hamburger Morgenpost.
Defenders Guy Demel and Marcell Jansen have also picked up illnesses ahead of the weekend. Demel has gastroenteritis and will be replaced at right-back by Tomas Rincon, while Jansen has a sinus infection.
"Should he have to take antibiotics, he will then be able to play in any case," said coach Armin Veh.
Jansen's potential absence would pose a problem for die Rothosen with Dennis Aogo already out of action with an inflamed pubic bone. Jose Paolo Guerrero is also suffering with an achilles problem, but Ze Roberto should be fit to play after a muscle injury eased in time.
