German powerhouse Bayern Munich recorded a 1-0 Champions League win against Maccabi Haifa and a 3-0 Bundesliga win against Hannover last week, much to the delight of head coach Louis van Gaal.
“It’s been a very good week. We’re back in business in the Champions League, and in the Bundesliga table as well," was Van Gaal quoted as saying on a press conference on Sunday.
"I saw a very, very strong midfield performance against Hannover, and our strikers are scoring again. Today’s result and the win against Haifa take us back to where Bayern have to be.“
FCB climbed to fourth spot in the Bundesliga table following Sunday's victory, trailing table toppers Bayer Leverkusen by six points. A win in their final Champions League game away against Juventus would send them into the knockout phase.
