Barcelona Were Superior To Inter In Champions League Clash - Xavi

Xavi was delighted with Barcelona's performance against Inter on Tuesday as the team coped with several absentees to reignite their Champions League challenge and boost confidence ahead of the visit of Real Madrid.

The Catalan playmaker was instrumental in helping the hosts overwhelm the dispirited Italian champions and boost their chances of qualifying for the next stage of the competition.

Barcelona were without several players, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lionel Messi, but were still able to score twice and ease to a two-goal victory.

"We were completely superior to Inter. We dominated the game and always believed in ourselves," Xavi was quoted as saying by the club's official website.

"Looking at it, it was a great performance.

"The team overcame the lay-offs and have shown what an extraordinary squad we have here."

Real Madrid moved to the top of the table at the weekend as Barca stumbled at Athletic Bilbao, but Xavi thinks the win over Inter means his side will be on top form on Sunday.

"This win has helped regain a positive vibe and now we can look to Madrid. We can show against them that we can win and win well," he added.
