Antonio Conte Disappointed With Atalanta's Lack Of Fighting Spirit

Atalanta coach Antonio Conte was disappointed with his team's performance against Lumezzane in the Coppa Italia, as they crumbled to defeat.

Conte expected more from his players and is hoping that things will be different this weekend, when the Nerazzurri host Roma in the 14th matchday of the Italian top flight.

"We did little of what we should have done to come out as winners on the pitch," declared the former Bari coach to tuttomercatoweb.com.

"The approach was very superficial and it's not good. Those who had to go on the pitch to win a first team place were missing and did not give their best.

"We lacked the fighting spirit and we must not think that the Siena win solved our problems - they still exist."

Atalanta are in 17th place thanks to the 12 points they've obtained from 13 games played.
