Abel Resino believes his Atletico Madrid outfit can put a halt to their run of poor results by beating champions Barcelona at Camp Nou on Saturday.
Since securing progression to the Champions League group stages with a convincing 5-2 aggregate victory over Panathinaikos, Atleti have suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Malaga at the Rosaleda followed by two draws at the Vicente Calderon stadium, against Racing Santander in the Primera Division and Cypriot side APOEL in the UEFA Champions League.
Last season Los Colchoneros suffered a humiliating 6-1 mauling at the hands of Barca in Camp Nou but did beat the would-be champions 4-3 on their own patch and Resino sees no reason why they cannot win again.
"Why can't we win at Barcelona? We can," a defiant Resino said to AS.
It could be a big week in Atleti's season, who take on Almeria at home on Wednesday before taking the trip to the Mestalla to face an in-form Valencia the following Sunday.
