Manchester City line up Herrera signing for Guardiola

Ander Herrera would be one of Pep Guardiola's first transfer targets should he join Manchester City as expected, reports Don Balon.

The Spanish midfielder has struggled for regular game time at Manchester United and could be allowed to leave in the January transfer window, though selling to their bitter rivals might discourage the Red Devils.

Guardiola has already confirmed that he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, with City widely understood to be clear front-runners to secure his services beyond that, and the Premier League club are reportedly keen to prepare him a squad to his liking.

The 26-year-old Herrera has made only eight league starts for Louis van Gaal's struggling side so far this season, registering two goals.
