Oxlade-Chamberlain reveals his Arsenal man of 2015... and it's not Ozil

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has snubbed Mesut Ozil and chosen Mathieu Flamini as his surprising choice for man of 2015.

Ozil is a leading contender to win the player of the season award having inspired Arsenal's run to the top of the Premier League table with 16 assists in 19 games.

The Germany international is closing in on Theirry Henry's record for assists in a season, but Oxlade-Chamberlain believes Ozil's buddy and north London derby hero Flamini deserves his own special accolade.

"It's got to be Mathieu Flamini with everything that's going on around him," said Oxlade-Chamberlain of the Frenchman whose GF Biochemicals company is revolutionising the industry, not to mention earning the 31-year-old a small fortune.

"He's just smashed it. Who knows what he's up to but if you look over the archives I've always said Mathieu Flamini is taking over the world from within the Arsenal dressing room.

"He's proven me right and his two goals against Spurs were unbelievable and that was a great moment to be a part of.

"For him to score two goals in the derby when he was our holding midfielder that night was amazing. I don't know what he was doing up there for the first goal and the volley was just a great goal.

"Every time he's been asked to come on he's done a great job for us being the quality player he is. And all that stuff with his business is unbelievable so Flam is the man of the year for me."
