Guardiola wanted Darmian at Bayern Munich

Pep Guardiola’s exit comes after the Spaniard had a disagreement over transfer targets with the Bayern Munich board, according to Sport Bild.

The report in Germany claims that Guardiola wanted to sign either Matteo Darmian or Danilo to bolster Bayern’s options on the right flank and keep Philipp Lahm in midfield.

Instead, Bayern’s board opted to Arturo Vidal, which has subsequently moved Lahm back into defence.

Guardiola was also unhappy with the sale of Toni Kroos to Real Madrid in the summer.
