Chelsea clash in the corner of our minds - Matuidi

Blaise Matuidi says PSG are starting to think about their Champions League last 16 clash with Chelsea on February 16.

The Ligue 1 champions have begun a winter training camp in Doha ahead of their return to action in the Coupe de France against Wasquehal on January 3.

And, despite having nine games to play between now and the visit of Guus Hiddink's side to the Parc des Princes, Matuidi admits the Champions League tie has crept into his throughts.

"Chelsea will happen soon, but before there are many other matches to play," he said. "This [reaching the Champions league last 16] is one of our objectives, knowing that the [Ligue 1] championship is far away. The record for goals [scored] in Ligue 1 is too.

"Today, the Champions League is in a month, so it is in a corner of our minds."

Matuidi says the PSG squad are acclimatising to conditions in Doha after a short Christmas break.

"It's always difficult, the recovery, we took spent time with our families and there was a little excess," he added.

"The club is on a big scale, we see it coming here. The club has turned a corner. Doha is like being at home for us. It's been three or four times we've come here and we are very happy."
