Arsenal train on Christmas Day

Arsenal are leaving nothing to chance ahead of their Premier League clash with Southampton on Boxing Day.

Arsene Wenger took training at the club's London Colney base on Christmas Day as the Gunners prepare for a trip to St Mary's.

Wenger has a strong squad at his disposal heading into the festive fixture run-in, although Alexis Sanchez is not expected to return until January 10.

Alexis suffered a hamstring injury in the draw against Norwich, but the Gunners have won four consecutive games without the Chilean, including a 2-1 victory over title rivals Manchester City.
