Fenerbahce's Aziz Yildirim gives testimony regarding match-fixing allegations



The chairman of the Turkish giants has been detained and will face trial over match-fixing allegations


Fenerbahce president Aziz Yildirim has been taken into custody, after giving testimony, for his alleged part in the match-fixing scandal which is rocking Turkish football.

The Turkish club's president had been released in order to receive treatment for heart problems at a local hospital.

Yildirim was discharged from the hospital on Sunday and then gave his testimony in court, being detained as the session was adjourned.

Turkish sources suggest the main trial will take place next week, which will decide the fate of Yildirim and dozens of other football figures who allegedly took part in match-fixing actions.
