Portuguese powerhouse Sporting CP beat Bulgarian side Levski Sofia 5-0 in Thursday's Europa League encounter and young winger Diogo Salomao, who scored once, was very pelased with his side's performance.
"It was a special moment for me. I was very happy to score in a competition like the Europa League," said Salomao on the official UEFA website.
"I don't know if I have yet earned my place in the team: I work everyday for that but the decision always belongs to the coach. Yet it was a great Sporting performance – the future looks very bright."
Forward Helder Postiga was equally pleased with the final result and added that Sporting are close to qualifying for the next round.
"We played very well and managed a big result, which is good for the fans. Winning home matches is essential and if we win the next game at home to KAA Gent on 21 October too we will be close to the next round."
