San Lorenzo Coach Ramon Diaz Anticipates Neutral Support Ahead Of Estudiantes Clash

San Lorenzo tecnico Ramon Diaz began the psychological battles early as his team prepare to host Estudiantes on Sunday evening, asserting that most fans across Argentina would like to see his Ciclon team win against the current league leaders.

"On Sunday, every single team will be San Lorenzo fans because the championship is still wide open and it will be a very important game. If they beat us however, they will start to cut loose at the top, so there will a lot of people who are hanging on what we can do," 'El Pelado' fired with typical candour at the club's press conference yesterday evening. San Lorenzo are currently four points behind the Pincha, who lead the Apertura outright with a two-point cushion.

Diaz also commented on the possible absence of Estudiantes talisman Juan Sebastian Veron, who is struggling to recover from an ankle knock sustained in midweek against Gimnasia.

"It is great to beat teams when they have all their stars out," the coach jested, confirming that he wants to see 'La Bruja' in action in Bajo Flores.

Sunday's clash is one of the highlights of a weekend filled with massive games in the Primera Division. As well as San Lorenzo's test, River Plate and Banfield also face each other in a second top of the table clash, while Saturday pits second place Velez Sarsfield against an improving Newell's Old Boys outfit.
