The result on Saturday evening was made even more important by Inter's goalless draw against Juventus yesterday, leaving the Rossoneri two points off the top of Serie A and level with the Nerazzurri.
Pirlo himself understood the need for the three points more so than taking the plaudits for a quite spectacular goal which stole the show in Parma.
"It was a great goal, I have to admit it. But it was more important to win," Pirlo told Milannews.
